From your first search to welcoming your puppy home — and what Mon Chiot checks before adding a breeder to the portal.
1. Search by breed and region
Filter available puppies by breed, region across Québec or Ontario, and status — available, reserved, upcoming or adopted. Results are sorted by how recently a listing was updated, never by an amount paid by the breeder.
2. Discover verified breeders
Every listing shows the same standardized fields: breed, sex, color, date of birth, price, vaccines, microchip and registration papers. A breeder only appears on Mon Chiot after confirming their health and socialization practices.
3. Contact the breeder directly
Mon Chiot is not a middleman: each listing connects you directly with the person who raised the puppy. Ask your questions, plan a visit, discuss the puppy-family match — no call center standing between you two.
4. Welcome your puppy
The reservation, deposit and pickup all happen directly with the breeder, on their own terms. Mon Chiot never processes a payment and takes no commission on the adoption.
What we check before adding a breeder
A portal is only as good as the listings it shows. Here's what a breeder must confirm to join Mon Chiot.
Health screening
Confirmation of the health tests recommended for the breeding dogs' breed, provided in writing to the adopting family.
Home socialization
Puppies must grow up in a family setting, not in an isolated production kennel.
Complete documentation
Up-to-date vaccines, a registered microchip and registration papers (when applicable) provided at pickup.
Visits welcome
Families must be able to visit the kennel or meet the parents before reserving a puppy.
No paid ranking
Display order follows how recently a listing was updated. No amount paid to Mon Chiot improves a listing's position.
Verifiable contact
Every listed breeder must provide verifiable contact details and respond to families within a reasonable time.
What it actually means.
"Responsible breeding" isn't just a slogan — it's a set of verifiable practices. To us, it means small, spaced-out litters, breeding dogs screened before mating, daily socialization from the first days of life, and full transparency about the puppy's health, origin and price.
It also means refusing certain practices: no wholesale sales to pet stores, no anonymous broker standing between the breeder and the family, and no back-to-back litters that exhaust a breeding female.
This definition — not an official certification, but a set of verifiable criteria — is what Mon Chiot asks of every breeder before their puppies go live on the portal.
What we get asked the most
Every breeder confirms their health, socialization and follow-up practices in writing before being added to the portal. Mon Chiot doesn't physically visit every kennel, but requires verifiable documentation and immediately removes any listing flagged for non-compliance.
No, never. Display order follows how recently each listing was updated. A breeder cannot buy a better position, no matter the size of their kennel.
No. Mon Chiot never processes a payment and takes no commission. The deposit and the puppy's price are paid directly to the breeder, on their own terms.

It's encouraged, and it's one of the criteria we ask of listed breeders. Bring it up directly with the breeder during your first contact.
